if you are getting a message when you boot up asking which launcher you should choose:
Simply Click on the Nova Launcher (The one on the right) and then click OK on the remote then move down to always and click OK on the remote on that. That will set the correct launcher and every time you switch off and on it will not ask you again.
if you are getting "script Errors" or a lot of buffering or a "cache full" message
Script errors and buffering issues are normally connection issues usually associated with a poor internet or Wi-Fi connection or sometimes an outdated router. If you are using Wi-Fi please consider changing to Ethernet by connecting the supplied cable (or purchasing a longer cable) or by home networking plugs (£25 on eBay). Connection by Ethernet is an almost guaranteed way of getting a good streaming experience
If your router is more than 18 month old it may be worthwhile asking your ISP for an updated one, if you threaten to leave they will usually let you have a new one. Newer routers have much better Wi-Fi ability and can stream data much quicker. First of all make sure that you have selected EITHER Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Which ever one you have used to connect. the other one has to be switched off. Click on Settings on the desktop and this menu will appear
If you are on Wi-Fi you must turn off Ethernet after you have set up Wi-Fi, click on settings on the desktop and move down to Ethernet
Once you have selected Wi-Fi or Ethernet and turned off the other one, try restarting your modem and router by fully pulling out the power, after it has rebooted up try to connect again through your Stream Box
after doing the above update your stream box to the latest version
We have recently changed our updates to include a fix for any “cache full” issues you may be having, so it’s worth getting the latest update. If you are experiencing any "script errors" then an update may well fix this, however, a lot of "script errors" are due to a poor connection and you need to try and connect your Stream Box via Ethernet, even if its just temporary to see if you can get rid of the "script errors"
To make sure you have the most up to date software and working add-ons please follow these instructions:
Go to the desktop and select the updates app
At the top of the list of updates there is an update titled- Stream Box update...
Select that and click OK, the update will take a while to download and install but wait until you get the message “update completed successfully” and click the done button. Please do not interrupt or stop the update while in progress. This is what you get while it is updating
After it has completed you will get a completed message, Re launch Stream Box Icon and check again, check Movies 1 featured for a good test.
if you have accidently deleted stream box or experiencing a black screen when you launch stream box?
If you have a blank or black screen when you launch Stream Box or it launches and then quits immediately or you have uninstalled your stream Box by mistake, it needs to be reinstalled; it is a 2 step process:
Click on this link below and download an app to your computer and then copy it to your USB memory stick for use later
Go to the Stream Box desktop and click on settings, then scroll down the list of settings on the left hand side and find the one called apps. Press the right arrow on the remote to get into the list of apps and then scroll down until you see an app called XBMC, select it and then move up to uninstall and click on it and confirm when it asks you to.
After uninstall press return on the remote to go back to the desktop and then put the USB stick into any of the USB slots on the machine
On the desktop click on the icon called apps and then find the item called app installer (near the top) and click on it, select external USB drive and locate the downloaded app that you placed on it and then install that.
After install press return to go back to the desktop and now along the top left hand side of the screen will be an app called XBMC, click on that and it will say "first run" let it finish loading and then click on the the down arrows on the remote to get to the exit button on the bottom left hand side, select it and then confirm exit
After that update your stream box to the latest version (see above)
This next part is not necessary to launch Stream Box but if you wish to relocate the position of the app on your desktop please follow these instructions:
You will need a USB mouse, plug in the mouse and click and hold the left hand button of the mouse after you select the XBMC icon, then a box will ask you if you wish to unlock the desktop, follow the instructions and then reselect the app icon and this time click and hold down the left hand mouse button and then drag the icon to where you need it
if the stream box interface (the man and woman on the sofa) has now gone and this is what you see
When you launch Stream Box, the familiar interface with the Man and woman on the sofa has gone and you can see a blue bubbles background with the words: Music, Video, Programs, Settings etc., don't worry its an easy fix and we have an app for that!
Just press the down arrow on the remote until you are over the power off button next to the star in the bottom left had side and then press exit, You will then be back on the desktop. Select the restore App (some systems have the restore app inside the app section, just click "apps" on the desktop and look for it there it will be called stream box restore) Once you have launched this it will ask you if you want to restore factory settings just select OK and then re start Stream Box
In the unlikely event that this does not restore your interface use the "update your stream box to the latest version" (see above)
